Martina Franca ή μόνο Martina είναι ένας δήμος στην επαρχία του Τάραντα, Απουλία(Puglia), Ιταλία. Είναι η δεύτερη πιο πυκνοκατοικημένη πόλη της επαρχίας μετά Τάραντα.

Martina Franca, or simply Martina, is a municipality in the province of Taranto, Apulia (Puglia), Italy. It is the second most populous city in the province after Taranto.

Ιδρύθηκε το 1300 μ.Χ, ο πολοιούχος της πόλης ειναι ο San Martino.

Η παλιά πόλη είναι ιδιαίτερα όμορφη, που περιβάλλεται από πέτρινους τοίχους με εμφανή τον ρυθμό μπαρόκ, πύλες που οδηγούν σε πλατείες και στενά δαιδαλώδη δρομάκια.

The old town is particularly beautiful, surrounded by stone walls with a clear Baroque style, gates leading to squares, and narrow winding streets.

Η Piazza Roma είναι η μεγαλύτερη πλατεία στην παλιά πόλη,όπου εκεί βρίσκεται το Palazzo Ducale του 17ο αιώνα.

Η κοινότητα της Martina Franca παράγει ένα λευκό Denominazione di origine controllata (DOC).  Το κρασί έχει μια τάση να μην γεράσει καλά , συχνά μετατρεπεται από ένα ελαφρύ λευκό χρώμα σε ένα πιο σκούρο κεχριμπαρένιο χρώμα και να χάνει το φρέσκα αρώμα των φρούτων του μετά από μόνο 3 με 4 χρόνια στη φιάλη.

The community of Martina Franca produces a white Denominazione di origine controllata (DOC) wine. The wine tends not to age well, often transforming from a light white color to a darker amber hue and losing its fresh fruity aromas after only 3 to 4 years in the bottle.

Η όπερα Φεστιβάλ della Valle d'Itria πραγματοποιείται κάθε χρόνο τον Ιούλιο / Αύγουστο. Παρουσιάζει μια σειρά από  ασυνήθιστες όπερες.

The Opera Festival della Valle d'Itria takes place every year in July/August. It features a series of unusual operas.

             

Η γεωργία είναι συγκεντρωμένη σε εύφορα εδάφη σε μικρές κοιλάδες. Η Αμπελουργία βασίζεται κυρίως σε λευκό κρασί σταφυλιών. Υπάρχουν επίσης πολλά ελαιόδεντρα και το ελαιόλαδο είναι ένα από τα κύρια προϊόντα της περιοχής. Στην γίνεται η εκτροφή καθαρόαιμων "murgese" άλογα και το περίφημο γαϊδουράκι της Martina Franca.
