Το Ποζιτάνο βρίσκεται στην ακτή Αμάλφι, στην περιφέρεια της Καμπανίας επαρχία του Σαλέρνο κοντά στην Νάπολη. Μεγάλο τουριστικό θέρετρο με πληθυσμό 3.900 κατοίκους, ένα μέρος πολύ ιδιαίτερο, ο οικισμός είναι χτισμένος αμφιθεατρικά, κάθετα στους βράχους που καταλήγουν στην θάλασσα. Αγαπημένος προορισμός ακόμα και από την εποχή της Ρωμαϊκής Αυτοκρατορίας, τότε το Ποζιτάνο ήταν εμπορικό λιμάνι(16ο αι. - 17ο αι.). Τα χρόνια που ακολουθούν μετατρέπεται σε ένα φτωχό ψαροχώρι μέχρι την δεκαετία του 1950 που άρχισε να αναπτύσσεται τουριστικά. Πλήθος κόσμου το επισκέπτονται κάθε χρόνο για ολιγοήμερες διακοπές ή για μονοήμερες εκδρομές καθώς είναι πολύ δημοφιλής με τα γραφικά τοπία και την νυχτερινή ζωή του. Ο επισκέπτης εντυπωσιάζεται από την παραμυθένια όψη του τα στενά δρομάκια και τα καλαίσθητα σπίτια με τους κήπους. Πόλος έλξης η μαύρη παραλία (Piaggia Grande), αλλά και η Santa Maria Assunta, εκκλησία του 13ου αι. με τον πολύχρωμο τρούλο σήμα κατατεθέν του Ποζιτάνο. Καθώς και την βυζαντινή εικόνα του 13ου αι. που απεικονίζει μια μαύρη Παναγία με τον Χριστό. Πολλά τα καφέ και τα εστιατόρια προς ικανοποίηση κάθε επιθυμίας, τα μικρά μαγαζιά με τα σουβενίρ αλλά και τις μπουτίκ με τα ρούχα και τα σανδάλια στο στυλ του Ποζιτάνο και φυσικά πολλά ξενοδοχεία για όλα τα πορτοφόλια που συναγωνίζονται μεταξύ τους για την καλύτερη θέα.

Inside the church, there is also a Byzantine icon of the 13th century depicting a black Madonna with Christ. The town is full of cafes and restaurants that cater to every desire, along with small souvenir shops and boutiques selling Positano-style clothes and sandals. In addition, there are many hotels with stunning views, competing to offer the best vistas of the coastline. The combination of its rich history, natural beauty, and vibrant atmosphere makes Positano one of the most enchanting destinations on the Amalfi Coast.
