Mandili is a village in the Serres region, located on the southwestern slopes of Mount Menikio at an altitude of 290 meters. Until 2009, it was administratively part of the Municipality of Alistrati, and since 2009, it has been part of the Municipality of Nea Zihni. According to the 2001 census, it had 134 inhabitants. The history of the village dates back many years, and the contribution of its inhabitants to the Macedonian Struggle was significant. During the population exchange in 1923, 31 refugee families settled in the village. Today, despite a noticeable decline in the population, it remains a village of great interest, well worth visiting. The architectural features of the houses take you back many years, and together with the plane tree located at the center of the village, which is estimated to be over 1000 years old, they give the village its own distinct character. Every summer, on August 16th, during the celebration of Saint Mandilios, the Mandiliotes from all over gather in the village.
